FATHER RED SKY

Another morning has dawned, Red Sky
opens the door.
The Creator has chosen to bless us once
more.
Red Sky is ready, refreshed from his sleep.
There is work to be done, he has duties to
keep.

On the horizon, a small speckle appears.
As it moves even closer, a familiar voice
Red Sky hears.
“Good morning, father!” Red Hawk laughs
in the wind.
He glides in more closely, to greet his best
friend.

“Glad you could make it!” Red Sky says
with a grin.
“We have rested all night, let the new day
begin.”
They work together, waking the earth.
All creatures from slumber, the sun brings
re-birth.

Red Hawk the son soars fearlessly high.
In the safety and love of his father, Red
Sky.
All things on earth are bathed in the light
Of Red Sky’s bright splendor and Red
Hawk’s grand flight.

When daylight fades and dusk now
appears
Red Hawk gifts to his father a dance with
no fears.
He flies to the distance, then sharpens his
sight.
To watch his father Red Sky bring on the
night.

All things now slumber, making ready the
way.
For when morning comes, it brings a new
day.
But before Red Sky sleeps he offers this
prayer.
“Thank you Grandfather, for each day that
we share.”
