THE BEATING HEART

Within me lies a beating heart, the rhythm deep and strong.
Looking for a place called home, where my mind and soul belong.
At times my heart is fragile, I entrust it to your care.
I have found in you a resting place, this life with you I share.

Cars, a house, and vacation spots we’ve been fortunate to see.
But these are not the blessings that matter most to me.
My joy comes in the morning, when my family is near.
Love and laughter fill our home, these sounds I long to hear.

I do not yearn for earthly fame, my needs are simple and few.
I wake each day in grateful prayer to begin life fresh and new.
Faith and family are first in line when thoughts run through my head.
I hope you have always found peace and love in the words that I have said.

Time passes by so quickly, the years they come and go.
We must always think of each other and make sure it is love we show.
It is easy to become contented and not always give your part,
But for love to stay and grow each day, you must romance the beating heart.
